Calhoun is 0-5 against Ritchie County since April of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Red Devils will host the Rebels at 5:00 p.m.
On Monday, Calhoun didn't have quite enough to beat Wirt County and fell 3-2.

Remedy Riddel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Faith McClain was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Ritchie County hadn't done well against Ravenswood recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Rebels put the hurt on the Red Devils with a sharp 10-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Rocklyn Marcum made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Marcum was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Abby Cox was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Chelsie Jeffrey was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Ritchie County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Ritchie County is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Calhoun, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Calhoun has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Ritchie County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
