Baseball Recap: Harlan Green Dragons vs. Middlesboro Yellowjackets
Harlan came out on top against Middlesboro on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run fourth inning. The Green Dragons blew past the Yellowjackets 17-2. The Green Dragons have beaten the Yellowjackets the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Yellowjackets has come to flipping the script.
Baylor Varner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Harlan is undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Varner was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
