Basketball Recap: Bishop Hartley Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

It was a Battle of the Birds when Bishop Hartley took on Aiken on Saturday. The Hawks narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Falcons 68-65. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Hawks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Falcons are ranked 131st).

The win (which was Bishop Hartley's eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points over those games. As for Aiken, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Bishop Hartley will take on St. Charles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Hawks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Aiken, they will challenge Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
