Volleyball Recap: Walton-Verona Comes Up Short

Walton-Verona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Boone County Rebels. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Walton-Verona wouldn't go down easily and took Boone County into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-17, 25-21, 17-25, 15-9.

Walton-Verona's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Boone County, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walton-Verona will take on Williamstown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Boone County, they will be playing at home against Holy Cross at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
