Preview: Rock Hill Redmen vs. South Webster Jeeps
The Rock Hill Redmen will finish 2023 at home by hosting the South Webster Jeeps at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Rock Hill sitting on three straight victories and South Webster on four.
Last Saturday, everything came up roses for Rock Hill on the road against Fairview as the squad secured a 54-10 win.
South Webster has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 32 points or more this season. They really took it to Oak Hill for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-17 victory at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-2.
South Webster's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Skylar Zimmerman led the charge by scoring 18 points along with seven steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Zimmerman has scored at least 25% of South Webster's points. Isabella Claxon was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
The win got Rock Hill back to even at 4-4. As for South Webster, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
