Baseball Game Preview: Olive Branch Conquistadors vs. South Panola Tigers

Olive Branch is on a four-game streak of home losses, and South Panola a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Olive Branch Conquistadors will host the South Panola Tigers at 7:00 p.m.

Darnell Harris Jr. was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Olive Branch's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 7-8 when he doesn't). Marcus Jamison was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, South Panola got the win against Lake Cormorant on Monday by a conclusive 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven games by nine runs or more so far this season.

South Panola has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Olive Branch, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Olive Branch suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to South Panola in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Conquistadors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
