Basketball Game Preview: Fredericktown Freddies vs. Clear Fork Colts

Fredericktown is 2-7 against Clear Fork since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Fredericktown Freddies will square off against the Clear Fork Colts at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fredericktown comes in on seven and Clear Fork on six.

On Friday, Fredericktown was able to grind out a solid win over Centerburg, taking the game 41-29. That's two games straight that the Freddies have won by exactly 12 points.

Cally Carpenter was her usual excellent self, going 7 of 12 on her way to 16 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kit Bellman, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Clear Fork hadn't done well against River Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Clear Fork walked away with a 42-30 victory over River Valley. 42 seems to be a good number for the Colts as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Fredericktown pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Clear Fork, their record is now 10-2.

Things could have been worse for Fredericktown, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-27 loss to Clear Fork in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Fredericktown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
