Recap: City View Mustangs vs. Jacksboro Tigers
The City View Mustangs posted their biggest win since December 14, 2023 on Friday. They blew past Jacksboro 75-46 at home. Given City View's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while Jacksboro is ranked 927th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Jacksboro had strong showings from Eric Pizana, who scored ten points, and Cannon Valenzuela, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pizana has scored all season.
City View's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25.33 points. As for Jacksboro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
City View will square off against Henrietta at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Henrietta has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28. As for Jacksboro, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Vernon at 7:30 p.m.
