Basketball Recap: St. Joseph's Catholic Comes Up Short

St. Joseph's Catholic lost against Powdersville back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The St. Joseph's Catholic Knights fell 56-44 to the Powdersville Patriots.

Von Burton was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 17 on his way to 24 points for Powdersville. Burton has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Quan Burton, who posted ten points along with six boards and three steals.

St. Joseph's Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Powdersville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph's Catholic will challenge Christ Church Episcopal at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Powdersville, they will square off against Southside Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
