Baseball Recap: Moses Brown Takes a Loss

Moses Brown extended their losing streak to eight on Friday, dropping their season record down to 5-9 in the process. They lost 10-0 to the La Salle Academy Rams. The Quakers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for La Salle Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

For La Salle Academy's part, Jairo Martinez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Martinez a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Thomas Malloy, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and five RBI. Axel Dasilva also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Coming up, Moses Brown will take on Cranston East at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for La Salle Academy, they have already played their next contest, an 8-1 win against Barrington on the 7th.
