Basketball Recap: Lakeside Gets the Win

Lakeside hadn't done well against Arabia Mountain recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Lakeside Vikings walked away with a 61-52 win over the Arabia Mountain Rams. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Rams last Saturday, they had to take a 60-56 defeat.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sha'Nya Heath, who posted 19 points. Heath has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Charmaine Owens, who put up eight points in addition to eight assists and six boards.

Lakeside's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Arabia Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7.

Lakeside has already played their next contest, a 56-25 win against Dunwoody on the 5th. As for Arabia Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-56 defeat against Woodward Academy on the 7th.
