The Edisto Cougars will head out to take on the Bridges Prep Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edisto is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Edisto proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Jefferson Davis Academy 2-1.

Ryder Bingham was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Wayne Felder, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Bridges Prep fell victim to Barnwell and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Warhorses by a score of 2-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Buccaneers were not able to get on the board.

Dawson Cook spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.

Edisto pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Bridges Prep, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Edisto's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. Edisto has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Bridges Prep, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Edisto continue to outrun the ball?
