Basketball Recap: Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats vs. Schulenburg Shorthorns
Bloomington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 60-17 loss at the hands of the Schulenburg Shorthorns. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats/Lady Cats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-19 back in January.
Schulenburg's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Miranda Bonner, who went 7 of 14 en route to 18 points and six steals. Bonner is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jenna Guentert, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 12 points and six rebounds.
Bloomington's defeat dropped their record down to 3-26. As for Schulenburg, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-11.
Bloomington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Schulenburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 51-43 loss against Shiner on the 4th.
