Airport is 5-0 against Gilbert since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Airport Eagles will be playing at home against the Gilbert Indians at 6:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Airport took a blow against North Augusta, falling 49-9. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Gilbert posted their biggest victory since December 6, 2024 on Tuesday. They breezed by Brookland-Cayce to the tune of 66-35. The Indians pushed the score to 48-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bearcats had little chance of recovering from.

Gilbert found their leader in freshman Blythe Price, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 boards. Price's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chanelle Adams, who posted eight points along with nine rebounds and six steals.

Gilbert was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Airport's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Gilbert, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-11.

Airport took their victory against Gilbert in their previous meeting back in January of 2020 by a conclusive 56-35. Does Airport have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gilbert turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
