 McNary and South Salem are an even 5-5 against one another  since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The McNary Celtics will head out on the road to  face off against  the South Salem Saxons at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Both teams come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 McNary had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 1 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They never let the Vikings onto the board and left with  a   4-0  victory.
  Carter Hawley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered  just zero earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.
 At the plate,  Jordan Araiza was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.  Josh Allen was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Meanwhile, South Salem stacked  a  seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They were the clear victor by  a  16-9 margin over Clackamas. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for South Salem.
 McNary's win  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 9-6. As for South Salem, their victory was  their ninth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 12-1.
 McNary came up short against South Salem in their previous meeting  back in March, falling  6-2. Can McNary avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
