Softball Recap: Highland Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Highland extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping them up to 4-2. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dover Dragons, sneaking past 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Huskies have posted since May 15, 2025.

As for Dover, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since May 12, 2025.

For Dover's part, Daniella Drake was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Drake is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Madisyn Reilly also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Coming up, Highland will head out on the road to square off against Spackenkill at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Huskies' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Dover, they will host Ellenville at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
