Basketball Game Preview: Southern Wake Academy Lions vs. Woods Charter Wolves

Southern Wake Academy hasn't had much luck against Woods Charter recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Southern Wake Academy Lions will take on the Woods Charter Wolves at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Southern Wake Academy earned a 37-27 victory over Ascend Leadership. The win almost wasn't to be: the Lions were down 20-6 in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, Woods Charter slipped by Discovery Charter School 40-39 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

Woods Charter is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Southern Wake Academy, their record now sits at 5-8.

Southern Wake Academy took a serious blow against Woods Charter when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 50-7. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Southern Wake Academy was down 27-6.
