Baseball Game Preview: Malverne Mules vs. Plainedge Red Devils

For the second straight game, Malverne will face off against Plainedge. The Mules will host the Red Devils at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Malverne's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four matchups, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Malverne fell victim to Plainedge and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 14-0 to the Red Devils.

For Plainedge's part, Ty Stark looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Bobby Wescott was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Taylor Nitsch, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Plainedge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Malverne only posted an OBP of .000.

Malverne's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Plainedge, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
