Basketball Game Preview: San Simon Longhorns vs. Duncan Wildkats

San Simon has won three straight games at home, while Duncan has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The San Simon Longhorns will host the Duncan Wildkats at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

San Simon will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Valley Union, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. San Simon walked away with a 30-18 victory over Valley Union on Thursday.

San Simon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyzon Corrales, who posted six points along with nine steals and eight rebounds. Corrales has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played. Bryleigh Sloan was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

San Simon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Duncan took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 46-10 victory over San Manuel. The Wildkats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 21 points or more this season.

Duncan has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.4 points per game. As for San Simon, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
