The Golden Eagles fell just short of the Boyd County Lions by a score of 5-4 on Monday. The Golden Eagles have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Johnson Central's loss dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Boyd County, their victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Lions beat Johnson Central by a score of 5-4 later that day.
