Baseball Game Preview: Princeton Vikings vs. Lakota West Firebirds

The Princeton Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Lakota West Firebirds at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Princeton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past St. Xavier 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since April 26th.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakota West). They blew past Middletown 26-0 on Tuesday. The Firebirds haven't had any issues with the Middies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Princeton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lakota West, their win bumped their record up to 21-8.
