Basketball Game Preview: Cortez Colts vs. Shadow Mountain Matadors + Official Tickets

The Cortez Colts will challenge the Shadow Mountain Matadors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Cortez is headed into the game having just suffered their closest loss since December 3, 2024 last Tuesday. They fell just short of Greenway by a score of 54-52.

Despite the defeat, Cortez got top-tier performance from Carter Wells, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cassius Henderson, who shot 64% from the field to rack up 12 points.

Meanwhile, Shadow Mountain was able to grind out a solid win over Lake Havasu on Tuesday, taking the game 55-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Matadors.

Cortez now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Shadow Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Cortez against Shadow Mountain in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 71-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colts since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
