Baseball Game Preview: Clifton Central Comets vs. Beecher Bobcats

The Clifton Central Comets will head out to square off against the Beecher Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Clifton Central's win against Gardner-South Wilmington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Comets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Panthers on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, while Beecher put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Momence. The Bobcats blew past the Momence Athletics 7-0.

Beecher's record is now 8-9. As for Clifton Central, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Clifton Central might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Beecher in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Comets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
