Baseball Recap: Memphis East's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Memphis East had lost nine games straight , but after bumping their record up to 2-10 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Craigmont Chiefs 8-7. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 16-0 win the Chiefs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2015.

Noah Cook was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. Those runs were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Niclolas Malone, who earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

As for Craigmont, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

On Craigmont's side, Adam Stiger made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of his three plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Stiger is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Coming up, Memphis East will venture away from home to challenge Kingsbury at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Craigmont, they will square off against Douglass at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
