Baseball Recap: TERRA Environmental Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for TERRA Environmental, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Coral Reef Barracudas 2-1. For TERRA Environmental, this counts as revenge for the 1-0 win Coral Reef walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Eduardo Ortea tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because TERRA Environmental is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-5-1 otherwise.

At the plate, Michael Gutierrez was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Dylan Rodriguez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles.

TERRA Environmental's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-6-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.75 runs across that stretch. As for Coral Reef, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11.

Coming up, TERRA Environmental will square off against Coral Park at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. TERRA Environmental hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse. As for Coral Reef, they will take on Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
