Baseball Recap: McKean Highlanders vs. Red Lion Christian Academy Lions
McKean had lost 11 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-6-1 to make it 12. They came up short against the Red Lion Christian Academy Lions, falling 9-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Highlanders of the 20-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.
As for Red Lion Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2. Considering they have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Red Lion Christian Academy's part, Dom Liguori made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave Liguori a new career-high.
