Baseball Recap: David Crockett Gets the Win

David Crockett can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Sullivan East Patriots 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pioneers have posted since April 5th.

Aj Ford made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nolan Street, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lukas Easterling, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
