The La Joya Community Fighting Lobos are taking a road trip to challenge the Glendale Cardinals at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. La Joya Community is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

Friday just wasn't the day for La Joya Community's offense. They lost 10-0 to Youngker on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Fighting Lobos' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Glendale unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Washington.

Leonardo Raygoza and Matthew Najera did some serious damage despite the final result: Raygoza scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Najera scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Alex Elder also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Glendale's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for La Joya Community, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-5 record.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. La Joya Community has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Glendale struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

La Joya Community was able to grind out a solid victory over Glendale in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 12-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for La Joya Community since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
