Volleyball Game Preview: Upper Arlington Golden Bears vs. Olentangy Braves

The Upper Arlington Golden Bears will head out to take on the Olentangy Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Upper Arlington has five straight victories, Olentangy has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

While Upper Arlington's win against Hilliard Bradley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Golden Bears sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Jaguars on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Golden Bears have posted since April 1st.

Upper Arlington was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (108-107), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 17-25, 25-21, 23-25, 17-15.

Ari Bohrer had an outrageously good game as he had 19 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (seven). Abhiram Busi was another key player, getting 15 assists and five digs.

Meanwhile, Olentangy came up short against Thomas Worthington on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Olentangy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-13, 25-22.

Olentangy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Upper Arlington, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
