Baseball Recap: Mayfair's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Mayfair had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Lynwood Knights. The Monsoons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Jeremiah Lennear made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lennear was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 matchups.

In other batting news, Mayfair got a massive performance out of Gabriel Diaz, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those three runs gave Diaz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aidan Sullivan, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.

Mayfair was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher in four consecutive games.

Mayfair's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lynwood, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Mayfair will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
