Suggested Video

Medfield extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 5-5 in the process. They fell 3-0 to the Hopkinton Hillers. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Hillers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Hopkinton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly three runs.

For Hopkinton's part, not much got past Dylan Ruff, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep Medfield off the board. Ruff has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hopkinton secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Calvin Mahon, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was Mahon's first of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Medfield is set to challenge their familiar foe Dedham at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hopkinton will take on rival Dover-Sherborn at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hillers 4, the Raiders 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
