Soccer Recap: Charleston Comes Up Short

Charleston lost against Mattoon back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Trojans fell just short of the Greenwave by a score of 3-2. Charleston have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Russell Applegate and Fabio Ferrari scored both of Charleston's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 25 goals.

Charleston's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Mattoon, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-8-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charleston will take on Rantoul at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mattoon, they will be playing at home against Mt. Zion at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
