Softball Recap: Chesapeake Has No Trouble Against North County

Chesapeake had won three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 8-4 to make it four. Everything went their way against the North County Knights as they made off with a 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

As for North County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since May 14, 2024.

For North County's part, Lexi Garrison spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Chesapeake is set to square off against their familiar foe Arundel at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 1.8, the Wildcats 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, North County will take on rival Glen Burnie at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
