Baseball Recap: Arcadia Gets the Win

Arcadia hadn't done well against Viroqua recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Raiders walked away with a 6-3 win over the Blackhawks. This was a revenge game for the Raiders: when they faced off against the Blackhawks back in April, they had to take a 18-0 loss.

Carter Wegman was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Wegman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Deklyn Grzadzielewski, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Blashko, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Arcadia and bumps their season record up to 4-14. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Viroqua, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Arcadia is set to take on their familiar foe Luther at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Viroqua will face off against rival Westby at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
