Baseball Recap: Marion County Takes a Loss

Marion County extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-6 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Shelby Raiders. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

As for North Shelby, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games.

For North Shelby's part, Cole Browning was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion County will face off against Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Shelby, they will head out to challenge Atlanta at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
