Football Recap: St. Augustine's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

With a playoff win on the line, St. Augustine rose to the challenge on Saturday. They managed a 13-7 win over the San Pasqual Golden Eagles. The victory was familiar territory for the Saints who have now won four matchups in a row.

Vincent Smith threw for 168 yards on only 14 passes. Matthew Horne was his top target, picking up 105 receiving yards. On the ground, Caelyb Aguirre rushed for 60 yards.

Despite the loss, San Pasqual still got an impressive performance from Marcos Rocha, who picked up 188 receiving yards and one touchdown. With that strong performance, Rocha is now averaging an impressive 105.2 receiving yards per game.

St. Augustine's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for San Pasqual, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 7-6 record.

St. Augustine didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-7 loss against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy on the 7th. San Pasqual does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
