Hilmar never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Sonora Wildcats as they made off with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Yellowjackets have won nine contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Marlin Kindberg, who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep Sonora off the board.
At the plate, Hilmar got a massive performance out of Cohen Felber, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two hits gave Felber a new career-high. Kayleb Amaya was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Hilmar was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The win (which was Hilmar's fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sonora, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
