Volleyball Recap: Northwest Whitfield Bruins vs. Sonoraville Phoenix
Northwest Whitfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sonoraville Phoenix. The Bruins were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Phoenix earlier this season, when they won 2-0.
Northwest Whitfield came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 26-24, 15-12.
Jenna Quinn paced Northwest Whitfield's offense, picking up eight kills. Quinn got some help from Megan Torbett and her 21 assists. Quinn was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
