Softball Game Preview: Independence Eagles vs. Centennial Cougars

The Independence Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Centennial Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Independence is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Independence came up short against Page and fell 7-3.

Logan Riebe made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerrigan Riebe, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Centennial can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet as they made off with a 6-0 victory. The Cougars not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 3rd.

Centennial's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Independence, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Everything went Independence's way against Centennial in their previous matchup last Monday, as Independence made off with a 14-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
