Recap: Spring Valley Grizzlies vs. Palo Verde Panthers

The Spring Valley Grizzlies suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Palo Verde by a score of 54-51. Spring Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Palo Verde apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Spring Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Charolette Delisle, who scored 13 points along with seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Ervin, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Palo Verde got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Olivia Aznarez out in front who scored 12 points. Alana Conner was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Spring Valley has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Palo Verde, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Spring Valley will head out on the road to face off against Arbor View at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Arbor View is ranked 26th, while Spring Valley is ranked 33rd). As for Palo Verde, they will be playing at home against Bishop Gorman at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Gorman is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.
