Baseball Game Preview: Central Woodstock Falcons vs. Strasburg Rams

Central Woodstock is 2-8 against Strasburg since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Rams at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Central Woodstock's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Luray on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by exactly three runs.

Jaxson Kelican made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Strasburg has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.53 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against Madison County, falling 10-4. The Rams' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Strasburg saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Reynolds, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Gavin Dellinger was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Strasburg's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 16-3. As for Central Woodstock, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.
