Baseball Recap: Canyon Del Oro Takes Down Ranked Catalina Foothills

Canyon del Oro faced Catalina Foothills in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Dorados walked away with a 3-0 win over the Falcons. The Dorados haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Regen Mazura's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Canyon del Oro saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Carson, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Canyon del Oro pushed their record up to 22-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Catalina Foothills, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-5.

Canyon del Oro wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-2 win against Casa Grande on the 28th. As for Catalina Foothills, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 27-9 victory against Rincon/University on the 25th.
