Basketball Recap: Wiregrass Ranch Find Success

There's no place like home for Wiregrass Ranch, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They pulled ahead with a 50-49 photo finish over the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers on Tuesday. The 50-point effort marked the Bulls' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wiregrass Ranch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kj Smith, who posted 18 points. The match was Smith's 19th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovan Gaines, who put up 13 points and five boards.

Wiregrass Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Berkeley Prep, they dropped their record down to 10-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wiregrass Ranch has already played their next contest (against Land O' Lakes), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Berkeley Prep will challenge Tampa Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Tampa Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten games.
