Baseball Recap: Acadiana Christian Defenders vs. Christian Home Educators Fellowship Patriots

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Acadiana Christian had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Christian Home Educators Fellowship Patriots. Winning may never get old, but Acadiana Christian sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

David Claudet was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). Claudet was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Dawson Claudet was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with a home run and two RBI. Landen Sigura was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

On Christian Home Educators Fellowship's side, they got a good showing from Trevor St. Cyr, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Yancey Steady was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Matthew Steele, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Even though they lost, Christian Home Educators Fellowship was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Acadiana Christian only posted a batting average of .241.

Acadiana Christian's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Christian Home Educators Fellowship, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-8.

As of now, neither Acadiana Christian nor Christian Home Educators Fellowship have any future games scheduled.
