Baseball Recap: Stuart Hall Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Stuart Hall was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell just short of the University Red Devils by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, with their most recent loss being a 6-2 defeat last Friday.

Alex Heinicke was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out eight batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Stuart Hall's loss dropped their record down to 15-3. As for University, the win (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 23-1.

Stuart Hall didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against American Canyon on the 21st. As for University, they have also already played their next game, a 4-0 loss against Tamalpais on the 21st.
