Soccer Game Preview: Grosse Pointe North vs. De La Salle Collegiate + Official Tickets

Grosse Pointe North hasn't had much luck against De La Salle Collegiate recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Norsemen will head out on the road to square off against the Pilots at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Grosse Pointe North's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Center Line with a sharp 4-0 victory. Considering Grosse Pointe North's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask De La Salle Collegiate). They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Warren Woods-Tower on Wednesday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering De La Salle Collegiate's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Warren Woods-Tower are ranked 436th).

De La Salle Collegiate pushed their record up to 15-4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three matches. As for Grosse Pointe North, the win got them back to even at 9-9-4.

Grosse Pointe North couldn't quite get it done against De La Salle Collegiate in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Norsemen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
