Soccer Game Preview: Goochland vs. Monticello

Goochland hasn't had much luck against Monticello recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Goochland earned a 3-1 win over Thomas Jefferson.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Monticello made sure to put some goals up on the board against Waynesboro last Tuesday. They never let the Little Giants get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. Grayson Davis was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

The win made it two in a row for Monticello and bumps their season record up to 2-0-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two games. As for Goochland, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Goochland suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Monticello when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
