Basketball Recap: Avon Falls Despite Big Games from Ava Mitchell and Audrey Lammers

After flying high against Lorain last Wednesday, Avon came back down to earth. The Avon Eagles lost 57-32 to the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs on Saturday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-29 back in December of 2024.

Audrey Lammers and Ava Mitchell certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Lammers posted seven points and five boards, while Mitchell scored two points and eight rebounds.

Avon's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-4. As for Olmsted Falls, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avon will take on Berea-Midpark at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Olmsted Falls, they will face off against Steele at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Olmsted Falls' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
