While Shelbyville's victory against Seymour wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Golden Bears narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Owls 4-3. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Bears in their matchups with the Owls: they've now won four in a row.

Gracie Crafton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Shelbyville's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Anna Shearer, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Destiney Johnson was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Shelbyville's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Seymour, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shelbyville will challenge Speedway at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seymour, they will head out to face off against Scottsburg at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
