Softball Game Preview: Bishop McCort Crushers vs. Richland Rams

The Bishop McCort Crushers will head out to challenge the Richland Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Bishop McCort has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, Bishop McCort didn't have quite enough to beat Bellefonte and fell 3-2.

Lariah Myers was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Myers was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Myers wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Belle Toth, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Richland beat Bishop Guilfoyle 5-2 on Thursday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Marauders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

The win got Richland back to even at 5-5. As for Bishop McCort, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Bishop McCort suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Richland in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Can the Crushers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
